Ash Scotland

10 year anniversary of smoke free legislation

The story

Ash Scotland is a charity working to reduce the harms caused by tobacco and related products. 10 years after the smoking ban in Scotland they asked for a brochure to explain the impact of the ban and what still needs to be done. I said “No, what you need are giant cigarettes. Now that will grab attention.”

I set to work, creating a large format, double sided poster. One side reviewed the benefits of the ban, the other what still needs to be done. All rolled up in clear perspex tubes. What a sight it must have been to see MSPs walking around the Scottish Parliament with giant cigarettes on launch day. The only cigarettes allowed indoors!
